Kallner

Helena Kallner, PhD, is a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist and an EAGT-accredited Gestalt psychotherapist. She is a senior teacher and supervisor of Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy™ (DSP), a method developed by Ruella Frank, PhD, founder and director of the Center for Somatic Studies. Helena has studied closely with Ruella Frank for many years and regularly teaches workshops and professional training programs in this approach internationally.

Based in Stockholm, she maintains a private practice, offering psychotherapy, supervision, and professional consultation both in person and online. She is a full member of the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy, the founding institute of Gestalt therapy.

She completed her PhD in the Department of Psychology at Middlesex University, London, under the supervision of Professor Jonna Bornemark of the Centre for Studies in Practical Knowledge at Södertörn University, Stockholm.

Her doctoral thesis, Forming Form: How Movement Shapes Psychotherapists' Practical Knowledge, explores the often-overlooked wisdom of the moving, feeling, and sensing body in a culture that prioritizes abstract and quantifiable knowledge. Drawing on Aristotle's concept of phronesis—the capacity to act wisely and appropriately in particular situations—her research examines how movement and bodily knowing cultivate practical wisdom and professional judgment.
